Why will I buy Surface Duos

 

Microsoft flagship phablet Microsoft surface duos is launched last week. Microsoft has done detailed R&D for years before introducing a dual screen device. Honestly speaking it was a real bold stuff from a company like Microsoft. The way they failed in sustaining Windows phones who would have thought that Microsoft will bounce back in handheld devices market with such an aggressiveness. In the era when top two android devices making companies Samsung and Huawei are fighting to get early market advantage of  selling a foldable screen phone(the market pressure of launching early has failed both of their first foldable device), Microsoft has decided to go separate from current trend and make their own market (The Steve Jobs way). Between the screens of Surface duos there is noticeable gap. Two screens of this device do not combine to become one double size screen. They are not designed to do. Then why you would need such device? 

First answer my question. Do you like dual screens for your office computer? If I am asked this question, My answer will be yes. It is really convenience when you have to refer from one software/ webpage/tool to act on other. In place of switching between applications you can just see on adjacent screen. Same idea is introduced by Microsoft in Mobile platform. Below are scenarios that I can think right now that  second screen of Surface dues will be really helpful.  

1. Reading bank account on one screen and doing transaction from your banking app on other screen
2. Having video call on one screen while discussing about any document, photo or even presentation on screen screen.
3. Drafting an official email on one screen through your hand held device while referring various reports, other emails and presentations on other screen.
4. Using one screen as a full length keyboard while writing blogs, emails, documents using other screen as monitor. 
5. reading some interesting article on one screen while your favorite Netflix series is played on other screen. 
6. Opening links, hyperlinks from the emails/articles into other screen without breaking the flow. 

Next question is what developers can do to take advantage of this second connected screen?
